1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, or to work more efficiently, and to provide information to the owners of the site.

Cookies and similar technologies — such as local storage, pixel tags, and unique device identifiers — can serve many purposes. Google, for example, uses cookies and similar technologies for purposes such as login, security, personalization, analytics, and advertising. This policy explains which cookies the Service uses, why we use them, and how you can control them.

2. How We Use Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies on the Service for the following purposes:

  • Strictly necessary cookies. Essential cookies that the Service needs to function correctly, including remembering whether you have accepted or declined cookies.
  • Functionality cookies. Cookies that remember choices you make (such as language preferences or settings on our tools) to provide an improved, personalized experience.
  • Analytics cookies. Cookies set by Google Analytics that help us understand how visitors interact with the Service — for example, which pages are visited most often and how much time users spend on each page.
  • Advertising cookies. Cookies set by Google and other third-party advertising networks (such as Google AdSense) that may be used to serve advertisements, limit how often you see an ad, and — subject to your choices — show you personalized ads based on your visits to this and other websites.

3. Cookies We Use

The following table lists the main cookies and similar technologies used on the Service:

Cookie / Technology Purpose Duration
Strictly necessary / session cookies Required for the core functionality of the Service to work, such as remembering your preference to show or hide the cookie notice, and maintaining basic session state. Session to 12 months
_ga / _gid (Google Analytics) Analytics cookies that help us understand how visitors use the Service (pages visited, time spent, device and browser type). These cookies are set by Google Analytics. _ga: 2 years; _gid: 24 hours
_gcl_* (Google Ads / Conversion) Set by Google Ads when a visitor clicks an ad and lands on the Service, to measure advertising effectiveness and conversion events. 90 days
NID / IDE / DSID / _gads (Google Advertising) Advertising cookies set by Google (including Google AdSense) to serve ads, limit how often you see an ad, remember ads you have dismissed, and show personalized ads based on your visits to this and other websites — subject to your ad settings. NID: 6 months; IDE: 13 months (EEA/UK/Switzerland) or 24 months (other regions); DSID: 2 weeks; _gads: 13 months
SOCS (Google Consent State) Set by Google to store the status of a user's consent choices (for example, acceptance or rejection of non-essential cookies) in accordance with Google's EU User Consent Policy. 13 months

The exact cookies set may change from time to time as Google updates its products. For detailed information about Google advertising cookies, see business.safety.google/adscookies .

4. Third-Party Cookies & Google Advertising

Some of the cookies used on the Service are set by third parties on our behalf, including Google.

  • Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies such as _ga and _gid, to analyze how the Service is used. This information helps us improve the quality and accessibility of our tools. You can learn more about how Google uses data when you use partner sites or apps at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites .
  • Google AdSense / advertising partners. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and/or other websites on the internet. This allows Google and its partners to serve ads personalized to your interests. You may opt out of personalized advertising as described in Section 8 below.

5. Personalized vs. Non-Personalized Ads

It is important to understand the difference between the two main kinds of ads you may see:

  • Personalized (interest-based) ads. These ads are tailored to you based on your browsing history across websites and apps. They are only shown with your consent where required (for example, in the EEA and the UK).
  • Non-personalized ads. These ads are based on contextual factors — such as the content of the page you are viewing, your approximate location, language, or device type. They use cookies only for frequency capping, aggregated ad reporting, and fraud protection.

Please note that even if you turn off personalized advertising, you will still see ads — they will simply be less relevant to you.

6. Your Consent & EU User Consent Policy

In accordance with Google's EU User Consent Policy and applicable law (including the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive), if you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we will only set non-essential cookies (such as analytics and advertising cookies) after you have given your consent. Essential cookies do not require consent.

  • Consent banner. When you first visit the Service, you will be shown a clear notice asking for your consent before any non-essential cookies are set.
  • Withdrawing consent. You may change or withdraw your consent at any time by clearing cookies in your browser or by using the settings described in Sections 7 and 8 below. Where a consent management platform (CMP) is used, you can update your choices through the CMP's settings.
  • Record of consent. Where required, we (or our CMP) record the fact that consent was given, so that we and our advertising partners can comply with our legal obligations.

7. Managing & Deleting Cookies

You have several options for controlling cookies:

  • Browser settings. Most browsers let you view, delete, or block cookies and similar technologies. For example:
    • Google Chrome: chrome://settings/cookies — delete existing cookies, allow or block all cookies, or set site-specific preferences.
    • Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
    • Apple Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
    • Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
  • Mobile devices. On mobile devices, you can manage advertising identifiers (such as the Android advertising ID or Apple's advertising identifier) in your device or app settings.
  • Google privacy tools. You can manage how Google uses cookies at g.co/privacytools, including refusing cookies for certain purposes.
  • Incognito / private browsing. Browsers' private modes (such as Chrome Incognito) automatically delete cookies, site data, and browsing history when you close the private session.

8. Opting Out of Personalized Advertising

If you do not want Google or third-party advertising partners to show you personalized ads, you can opt out using any of the following options:

  • Google My Ad Center. Turn off personalized advertising at https://myadcenter.google.com/personalizationoff .
  • Google Ads Settings. https://adssettings.google.com or https://www.google.com/settings/ads.
  • Partner ad settings. https://adssettings.google.com/partnerads.
  • Industry opt-out pages. Visit www.aboutads.info/choices or optout.networkadvertising.org to choose which third-party vendors may use cookies for personalized advertising.

Remember: opting out of personalized advertising does not mean you will see fewer ads. You will continue to see non-personalized ads based on contextual factors such as the content of the page you are viewing.

9. Analytics & Measurement

We use Google Analytics to measure how visitors use the Service. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information such as the pages you visit, the time you spend on the Service, and the device and browser you use. This information is used in aggregate form to understand usage patterns and improve the Service.

You can learn more about Google Analytics' privacy practices and opt out of Google Analytics cookies at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout (Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on).

10. Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals. Because there is not yet a common industry standard for how websites should respond to these signals, the Service does not currently respond to DNT signals. You can still control cookies through the browser settings and opt-out options described above.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, in Google's products, or in applicable law. When we do, we will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last Updated" date at the top. Please review this page periodically.
